What the heck does DTF even mean???
We know how annoying it is when industries use acronyms and assume that everyone who isn't in that line of work knows what they're on about. We're very sorry 😂 DTF just stands for Direct To Film. Sounds boring we know, but we swear it's actually really great! Just stick with us.
What is DTF Printing?
Direct To Film is the latest printing obsession. This is where your amazing design is printed straight onto a film sheet by a super special printer (that's the real technical name for it btw) rather than cut out of vinyl like our other printing option. This film is then heat pressed onto your chosen item and the film peels off, leaving the printed design on there.
What is the difference between DTF Print and Vinyl Print?
Vinyl printing is where we cut out your design from one of our vinyl colours, whereas DTF is where your design is printed onto a sheet with ink. The final look and feel is actually quite similar but vinyl printing has a few limitations.
What are the benefits of DTF Print?
DTF printing is perfect if you're looking for exact colour matches to your branding within your workwear, uniform or merch. We can match your design to your branded colour scheme much more easily with this than vinyl. DTF printing is also great for detailed designs that could get lost in vinyl prints or embroidery.
How durable is DTF?
DTF prints are as tough as nails! 💅 The special ink and adhesive combo makes it super durable and elastic meaning it's perfect for workwear. Hot washes and ironing could cause cracking through so we always recommend to wash at 30° - plus, you know, the environment!
